10.03.2010 TUI Marathon Palma de Mallorca sets sights on the English market
IBATUR Partner for the seventh event
Berlin, 10 March 2010. With travel packages for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, UK and the Netherlands the seventh TUI Marathon Palma de Mallorca is more international than ever. In particular the travel operator aims to penetrate the English market and its huge marathon potential. “The results from the IPSOS market research study on sport sponsoring demonstrate that some four million Germans know the TUI Marathon Palma de Mallorca,” says Michael Lambertz, head of Group Marketing at TUI. “One of the major objectives for 2010 is to achieve similar outstanding levels of recognition in England and the Netherlands. We intend to reach this target together with out partners.”
IBATUR, the Institute for Balearic Tourism, is again TUI’s partner for the TUI Marathon Palma de Mallorca. “In the area of tourism and sport the TUI Marathon Palma de Mallorca has already become a classic and a flagship for the island of Mallorca,” said IBATUR director Susanna Sciacovelli at the ITB in Berlin. For the first time the TUI marathon has found a British cooperation partner - the Family Holiday Association. This organisation helps sick and socially disadvantaged children to go on holiday with their families.
