 On 21 October 2012 athletes and amateur runners, young and old, will be readying themselves together at the starting line for the starter‘s orders for the marathon, the half marathon, 10 K or walking / Nordic walking events at the 9 th TUI Marathon Palma de Mallorca. The day before the UNICEF Kids Run will again take place. Don‘t miss out on this annual sporting highlight. Start positions Your start zone is marked by letters: A, B, C, D. The assignment to the grid is based on the race time you maintained with your registration. For further details check your race packet. Late entries are assigned automatically to the last section. Timing services - ChampionChip The TUI Marathon Palma de Mallorca will be timed exclusively with the ChampionChip, distributed by Mika Timing GmbH, Kürtener Straße 11b (Strundepark), 51465 Bergisch Gladbach, +49 (0)2202 2401-113. You are already a ChampionChip owner? Then fill in your ChampionChip number in the application form. You would like to purchase ChampionChip? You can acquire a ChampionChip via the TUI Marathon Palma de Mallorca registration form. The chip price is €31.00 and will be debited in common with the organisation fee from your credit card you specify with your registration prior the TUI Marathon. The chip will be delivered per post 14 days after recording your details. For applications receiving after Sept. 15th 2012, the ChampionChip will not be delivered per post. In this case you will get your own new ChampionChip with your Race Packet at the numbers pick up area. You would like to hire a ChampionChip? You can hire a ChampionChip for €6.00 which will be handed over to you with your starting documents. The hire fee will be charged when you apply. This chip is a single-use chip and can be used only for the TUI Marathon Palma de Mallorca 2011. It is therefore not necessary to pay a deposit during the weekend of the event. Can I attend without using a ChampionChip? No! You definitely need a ChampionChip to take part at one of the provided races! Timing Services for walking/Nordic walking is optional. Your TUI Marathon Palma de Mallorca Certificate You can download the TUI Marathon Palma de Mallorca certificate subsequently on www.tui-marathon.com. Classification Male/Female: the classification is according to ages M/F main class, M/F30, M/F35, M/F40, M/F45, M/F50, M/F55, M/F60, M/F65, M/F70, M/F75 and older (in accordance with international regulations). TUI Marathon Palma de Mallorca - Running Award Special classification in the half marathon The Running Award is an award just for companies. With a special sequential ranking system the two fastest women and men each of participating companies will be tracked. These four results will be count up to the company’s cumulative time. The team with the fastest total time will be the winner of the Running Award of TUI Marathon Palma de Mallorca, “Europe’s Fastest Company”. Get your TUI Marathon Medal engraved The TUI Marathon Palma de Mallorca provides a medal engraving service. You can get your name and finish time engraved on your medal as a memorabilia. "TUI Schöne Ferien Club" Child care On Sunday from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm TUI best FAMILY will be offering child care for children aged from 3 to 10 years. Your kids will be in best hands with us. Route The routes for the half marathon and the marathon are officially measured by the Real Federación de Atletismo. Every kilometre is marked by means of signs. For all runs the route is kept free of traffic by police officers and assistants. The route passes through delightful district of Palma with its incomparable charm and character. The instructions on the route posts must be heeded. Water Stations and First Aid (marathon and half marathon) Water and Refreshment Stations are set up every 3 km and at the finish. Refreshment points for handing out your own food are at 10km, 24km, 30.2km and 36.1km along the course. Awards and prizes Every properly registered runner who reaches the finish within the prescribed target time (difference between start and finish time) is awarded a medal at the finish. The certificate that confirms the runner’s performance and the results lists can be accessed as a download on the homepage. The presentation of the prizes is only made during the awards ceremony on the day of the event. Only athletes with respective contractual agreements are entitled to awards from the organiser. Contribution to environmental protection / TUI Forest Together with you TUI is committed to protecting the environment. Donate a tree to the TUI Forest on the Balearics, and TUI will donate a second. Your name will then be immortalised on a donation plaque. Charity partner Family Holiday Association TUI UK & Ireland‘s corporate charity partner is the Family Holiday Association. The UK based charity provides much needed holidays for children and their families who are dealing with difficult circumstances such as illness, abuse and bereavement and who cannot afford a simple break away. UK runners can raise money for the charity through sponsorship.
